The editorial board

The editorial board of the Asian Review of Books consists of:

 

Peter Gordon (founder and editor)

also a founder and former organizer of such initiatives as the the Man Asian Literary Prize and the Hong Kong International Literary Festival.

Mark L. Clifford

Executive Director of the Hong Kong-based Asia Business Council, formerly editor-in-chief of the South China Morning Post. Among other books, he is the author of Troubled Tiger: Businessmen, Bureaucrats and Generals in South Korea.

Pankaj Mishra

award-winning Indian novelist and essayist and a frequent contributor to publications ranging from the New York Review of Books and the New York Times to the Guardian and the Financial Times.

Ha Jin

winner of the National Book Award and the PEN/Faulkner Award, is among the best-known contemporary novelists born in China and one of the few who writes exclusively in English.

Suketu Mehta

Professor of Journalism at New York University, 2007 Guggenheim Fellow and author of Maximum City, winner of the Kiriyama Prize.

Qiu Xiaolong

poet, author of the award-winning Inspector Chen novels (starting with Death of a Red Heroine), a collection of stories (Years of Red Dust) and several collections of poetry, original and in translation.
